Krystian Czarnecki

Our Apprenticeship Program at Eryk gives young individuals the opportunity to learn and gather experience on international projects under the supervision of our coaches. We asked a few questions to our Team Leader Krystian, who has been a coach since May 2022.

Since when have you been working for Eryk, and what has been your career path? How long have you been a coach?

My first contact with BIC Electric/Eryk was in 2018, when I was working as a technician. I took a break for one and a half year, during which I had my own business and worked on international and local projects in Poland. Then I returned to Eryk. Within three months, I was promoted to the position of Team Leader. Currently, I have been a coach since May 2022.

What are your expectations regarding apprentices? What makes an ideal apprentice?

As an electrician with years of experience, I’m really focused on the safety of my apprentices. In addition to practical work and gaining professional experience, understanding theoretical foundations is also very important. It’s not enough to just know how to work – you must also be aware of what can be touched and what is better to avoid. In our profession, sometimes health or life depends on that, and the lack of precision in communication can lead to serious consequences.

How do you ensure that apprentices receive all the support needed to help them improve their skills?

In addition to theoretical materials that need to be filled out, I try to explain why we connect a particular device, how it works and where it can be found on the overall schematic. I want apprentices to not only perform tasks but also understand the context and processes at the project.

Are there common challenges apprentices face when being coached?

They often try to solve problems independently. The key is to have the willingness to work and develop one’s own experience. Those who make the effort to find solutions are the ones who achieve the best results.

How do you motivate your team?

I create a pleasant atmosphere among colleagues and approach each team member individually to support them in their development. Motivation comes not only from work results but also from understanding that they are appreciated and supported by their leader.

What qualities and skills do apprentices need to master and demonstrate to become a technician at Eryk?

The most important is the willingness to gain experience and acquire practical and theoretical knowledge.

List 3 things that bring you satisfaction and keep you focused when work gets really busy 😉

  • Staying calm and not creating a nervous atmosphere.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Good relationships with other team members.

Krystian, thanks for your time! We hope you get lots of great apprentices in the future. 😊
