Vision & services

We believe that we can – and should – contribute to a better life for West African professionals. Our goal is to create sustainable jobs, transfer our technical skills and company values to Africa, and make Eryk employees in Africa appreciated professionals.

Eryk’s journey in Africa began in 2018, laying the foundation for our long-term Apprenticeship Program which continues to evolve significantly, as we recruit, train and develop young promising individuals including those from Africa to become world-class electrical technicians.

  • In 2019, we welcomed the first African technicians from Ghana and Nigeria to start the educational program at Eryk. They completed a wide range of training and started to work on projects with our technicians.
  • In 2022, we produced the first set of graduates who now work as regular technicians, including at senior levels.
  • We signed an MoU with the Nigerian National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) in 2023 regarding selecting and screening the best candidates for our program. (click here)
  • In 2024, we established cooperation with Skive College (a Danish technical school) and the Maritime University of Szczecin (in Poland). This is geared towards promoting the education and training of our apprentices. (click here)

Remote IT services

To further our mission in Africa, we opened our Lagos office in 2024, to provide remote IT services from a company situated in Nigeria. By leveraging Nigerian IT talent, we create local jobs, thus contributing to reducing migration movements. (click here)

And now, across our company group, we have employed over 50 talented West Africans. Our focus remains the same: to provide hassle-free, excellent technical services worldwide.

Our vision is fully supported by the Royal Danish Embassy, Consulate of Denmark, and Danish State.

What’s next?

  • Our ambition is to create 1000 sustainable jobs based in Lagos, Nigeria, in the long run. By 2024, we aim to have 50+ African employees, contributing to the global workforce from our Lagos office.
  • We aim at having 25% of employees as apprentices and of course retaining them after graduation.

Support for the project

The project touches upon some very important issues in Ghana and West Africa, namely job creation, knowledge transfer and creating economic growth but also at the same time exploring the many opportunities that lies in the Sub-Saharan Africa. With the dedication that Eryk (back then BIC) has shown I’m confident that they will succeed.

The plan to create sustainable high competence jobs for West African professionals is very ambitious but I’m sure Eryk will succeed. There have been made many preparations so far, incl. market studies, recruitment process preparations, establishment of the business operation hub in Ghana, etc. Eryk is on a good track and we fully support this fantastic project.

What Customers say about our Apprentices on projects

We have been working with Eryk’s young electricians in our production for quite a while now. We are very happy with those young people who are clever and motivated.

International Apprentice & Training Program

Early stages

In January 2019, the technical equipment donated by Eryk (that time BIC) landed in Africa. It is a support for Ghana Greentech Academy – a vocational technical school, located near the rocky outcrops of the Mim region in Ghana. After a successful Academy reopening the students were informed about setting up of Eryk’s Apprentice Program for the top-performing graduates, who would have the opportunity to train their skills in Europe (Denmark & Poland).

In October 2019, we welcomed first 4 graduates from Ghana Greentech Academy: Florence, Alex, Listowel and Michael.

“Our first impression about Eryk is that it is a really loving company with well-behaved staff. The interaction between us and the staff was very friendly, and we all felt welcome.” – said the first apprentices.
