Skive Folkeblad: “Skive pictured on King Frederik X journey”

Original text in DK: link

The work is underway for King Frederik X. Duties call for Denmark’s King, after he was proclaimed regent and last Sunday celebrated at a festive service in Aarhus.

Monday was a regular day with the reception of Danes who wanted to thank for orders or medals, and already now the first trip abroad has been agreed for Denmark’s new regent.
It was expected that he would start by visiting the Nordic countries, but King Frederik X will instead take part in a Danish business promotion in Poland from 31 January to 2 February.

And as discussed in Skive Folkeblad yesterday, there will be clear Skive profiling on King Frederik’s first trip abroad. As a business school, Skive College is part of the large Danish business delegation, which is headed by King Frederik X. During the visit to Poland, King Frederik X will witness the management of Skive College sign a letter of intent with the Polish partner Maritime University in Szczecin and the Danish-Polish company Eryk Group to educate and upgrade students in the electrical trade.

It is absolutely excellent that there is Skive profiling in this way during the King’s visit to Poland. At the same time, it is an underlining that Skive is very good at developing skills for the green labor market – including a 12-week course where electricians learn how to get up in the mill house. These are skills in the green labour market, and it’s great that Skive is making such a positive contribution in an area where there is growing attention and demand.

38 Danish companies and three ministers – led by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M) – are first with the King in Poland’s capital, Warsaw, where, among other things, there will also be a focus on climate-friendly agricultural production and biogas. This is followed by a visit to the port city of Stettin, where Danish companies within offshore wind, power-to-x and port development participate. It is absolutely excellent that there is Skive profiling in this way during the King’s visit to Poland. At the same time, it is an underlining that Skive is particularly good at developing skills for the green labor market.

In connection with Queen Margrethe’s decision to step down as regent, there was a natural focus on the role and economy of the monarchy. But it is worth noting that Danish Industry emphasized how much it means positively for the business world, for job development and for the Danish economy, that the royal family participates in Danish business promotion abroad. It also helps to ensure visibility of Danish qualities, and it is great that Skive College is part of the Danish push in Poland – and thus participates in King Frederik’s first trip abroad. It is conceivable that King Frederik X will be interested in increasing the royal efforts in relation to Danish business promotion, etc. abroad, and it may become a new underlining of positive opportunities at the change of regent.

The Nordic countries, and official visits where Queen Mary also participates, have not been forgotten. The plan is that King Frederik X and Queen Mary – after the King’s visit to Poland – will make an official visit to Nordic countries.
