Apprenticeship Program milestone: First graduate-led project

We are excited to highlight a significant moment in Eryk’s Apprenticeship Program journey — the successful completion of a project in France, fully handled by three of our graduate technicians.

This isn’t just about finishing a job. It is especially about seeing the long-term impact of structured training, mentorship, and development.

📌“Seeing our graduates take full responsibility for a project like this is exactly why the Apprenticeship Program exists. It’s not just about building technical skills, it’s about shaping people who are confident, capable, and ready to lead. This milestone is proof that the investment pays off: for them, for us, and for our customers.” Hamza Jatto, Business Development Manager responsible for Eryk’s Apprenticeship Program.

The small team consisting of Alex, Michael and Innocent delivered electrical installation services in an industrial bakery. Tasks on the project include;

  • cabling and power supply for conveyor systems,
  • wiring of electric motors, sensors, & control systems,
  • installation of cable routes in compliance with safety standards etc.

What was it like for the technicians on the project?
The most rewarding part was the natural synergy we had as a team. Since we’ve all come through the same apprenticeship system at Eryk, we understand each other’s strengths, working styles, and even how we handle pressure. It felt like we weren’t just colleagues — we were a team that had grown together. That shared history helped us trust one another, communicate efficiently, and support each other when needed. It made the whole project flow much smoother.

Reflecting on how their sense of teamwork has improved
Teamwork was more about learning from the experienced ones and trying to fit into a team. Now, it’s more about contribution and responsibility. It isn’t just about doing your part — it’s about being aware of the whole picture and stepping up when needed. After everything is said and done, the dedicated team on site should provide a service that the customer is satisfied with and happy about.

Advice to apprentices looking to reach such levels of growth and independence
I will urge them to pay keen attention to the quality of their work, learn from their team leaders and coaches and also listen to instructions. – Michael
Be patient with your growth, but stay curious and proactive. Listen, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. They’re part of the process. Also, don’t underestimate soft skills. – Alex
Learning never ends. Focus and perseverance are key. – Innocent
