Highlights: Future-proofing your business in a changing demographic and AI landscape

Can a business stay competitive when access to skilled people becomes one of its biggest challenges?

This question ran through the business conference held in Szczecin on 31 March 2026, where discussions focused on talent shortage, changing demographics, and the growing role of AI in business.

The event brought together speakers and participants from different industries to explore how companies can respond to labour market changes, scale internationally, build resilient global set-ups, and use AI in ways that create lasting business value.

Eryk’s perspective on growth across borders

During the conference, our President, Jens-Christian Moller, opened the event with a short welcome speech and reflected on Eryk’s journey from Denmark to Poland and later to Nigeria. His presentation highlighted how international cooperation, openness to new markets, and long-term thinking continue to shape our way of working.

Insights on demographics, skills, and international cooperation

Dariusz Gradzik, Area Sales Associate for our Remote IT Services, shared insights into the demographic situation in Europe and what it means for the IT industry. His presentation focused on the growing pressure on companies to find skilled people and the need to look beyond traditional recruitment models when building future-ready organisations.

Our African colleagues also contributed to the discussion by sharing their reflections on working and living in Poland. Their perspective added an important human dimension to the topic, showing that international cooperation is not only about access to competence, but also about integration, adaptation, and building strong working relationships across cultures.

Eryk customers shared practical examples

Our customers were also among the speakers, proving practical experience of working with some of Eryk’s technical and IT specialists.

Representatives from Promeco Sp. z o.o. shared about apprenticeship programmes, local labour shortages, and the value of working with young, skilled people entering the industry. Eryk apprentices are currently working at Promeco’s facility, and both companies are pleased with developing cooperation.

A representative from Vald. Birn spoke on attracting skilled labour and the need for flexible solutions that support growth. Today, two young Nigerian IT specialists based in our office in Lagos work closely with Birn, helping the company strengthen productivity and expand its capabilities via remote IT service. 👉 Read more about our corporation.

There was also a focus on multicultural leadership as it concerns managing people from different cultures and time zones globally, presented by the Co-CEO & partner of INSCALE Group, one of our customers for remote IT services.

The conference also featured high-interest presentations on:

  • Offshoring of production and services – a sustainable solution presented by the Director of Economic Diplomacy and Trade at the Embassy of Denmark in Warsaw
  • Support tools for exporters by the Marshal’s office – Szczecin
  • Brain Capital 2026 with focus on how to avoid cognitive bankruptcy in the age of AI orchestration.

Key takeaways from the conference

The conference ended with several clear reflections:

  • Companies need to stay open to new ways of finding and developing skilled people
  • International cooperation can be a practical answer to local labour shortages
  • Apprenticeship programmes remain an important path for building future competence
  • AI can support growth, but people remain central to long-term business success
  • Future-proofing a business requires both strategic thinking and the willingness to adapt

The discussions in Szczecin showed that while the challenges are real, companies still have opportunities to respond in a practical and forward-looking way. For us, it was a valuable event that confirmed the importance of combining local knowledge, international cooperation, and long-term investment in people.

This event was organised by Klaster IT with Eryk as the main partner.
