Karol is a final-year undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. For the past three years, during his free time in the summer, he has been participating in our Apprenticeship Program, gaining valuable experience.
We asked Karol a few questions:
How did you learn about the apprenticeship program at Eryk?
I learnt about the Apprenticeship Program and the existence of Eryk through an invitation to the “Open Day at Eryk”. This took place on May 26, 2022. I was intrigued by the offer presented by Eryk. At that time, I was looking for a serious employer who would allow me to gain the necessary practical experience in my field. That’s why I decided to attend the event. Once there, Piotr Kubiak and Mariusz Piotrowski explained the details of working at the company. Right after that day, I immediately submitted my CV 😉.
During my time at Eryk, I had the pleasure of actively participating in project execution, mainly in the industrial sector. I gained new skills and experience in tasks-related to both electrical and mechanical work. I developed abilities such as cable routing, performing electrical connections, and working with technical documentation. An interesting challenge for me was working at heights using various types of lifts.
It’s worth mentioning that Eryk has many excellent team leaders/managers, such as Krzysztof Kapanajko, Michał Kwiatkowski, and Robert Wojtala, who demonstrate patience and have great skills in sharing their knowledge and experience.
I’ve been connected with Eryk for three years now. Unfortunately, due to the demands of my studies and the seasonal nature of my presence at work, I’ve spent just under nine months working on actual projects.
Do the skills you gained during the apprenticeship program make it easier for you to study?
I think so. After participating in technical project execution, it’s possible to look at certain aspects from a more practical perspective. Moreover, these skills not only make learning easier but are also useful in other situations. For instance, working in international teams has boosted my confidence in communicating in a different language.
