160 companies, 21 nominees, 5 categories and 2 special. BIC Electric was among 21 companies selected in this year’s edition of the Economic Award of the President of Poland and among 3 companies in the “Responsible Business” category.
“We are proud that we were nominated for this Award! As one of the first companies, BIC has introduced a system of management of corporate social responsibility policy certified by DNV GL”- emphasizes Łucja Kalkstein, Vice President of the Management Board and CFO, who took part in the ceremony during Congress 590 in Jasionka, near Rzeszów.
It was already the 17th edition of the event. The Economic Award is granted annually by the President of Poland. It is a special distinction for companies that make a significant contribution to the development of the Polish economy, building a positive image of Polish entrepreneurship on the international arena. This year, it was 160 companies that applied for the prize. The jury nominated only 21 in 5 categories and 2 special ones.
The President emphasized that selecting leaders and final winners was not easy. “All companies are wonderful, and you are great people and great businessmen, with an unusual sense of responsibility” – he noted.
Apart from doing business, BIC is involved in many social activities – locally and globally. We support technical education and create jobs in West Africa, we support culture in West Pomerania and numerous public benefit organizations. We are proud of this and of being among the 21 distinguished companies.
The jury of this year’s edition consisted of outstanding representatives of business and economic universities. Some of them act as advisors to the President of Poland.
