Eryk Takes You Beyond Borders
Recently, two members of Eryk Remote IT teams (Power Bi Developers) Funmi and Ayo travelled from Lagos to Denmark to learn about our customer (BIRN’s) working systems, attend technical workshop and Business meetings. What began as a professional opportunity became something more meaningful: Conversations moved from screens to shared tables; a recognition of trust built through performance.

For Ayo, the moment carried weight beyond the excitement of travel. “There is something about being physically present in a room with international colleagues and holding your own that just hits differently. It confirmed that I belong at that table, not just remotely, but literally.”
Funmi shared a similar sense of validation. “It elevated my confidence by showing me that my skills are valuable and in demand worldwide, which was definitely a confidence booster.”

Learning about BIRN systems side-by-side with the BIRN team transformed how collaboration felt. The trip allowed them to connect beyond screens and understand each other’s working styles more deeply.
“Meeting the team in person completely changed the dynamic for me… you get the whole person, the jokes, the quirks, the way they think on their feet,” Ayo reflected.
Funmi also noted how powerful those moments were: “Meeting the internal team was great. It allowed me to see beyond their technical expertise and get to know their personalities, which improved our working relationship.”
The visit included deep technical workshops, where ideas and solutions were explored in long collaborative sessions.
“The workshops were something else entirely. Long, intense sessions but the kind where you actually lose track of time because the conversation is that good,” Ayo said. Funmi described the experience as equally impactful.

Each session lasted about six hours, and the level of collaboration and deep technical discussion we had around the table was incredible. Beyond the meetings, there were also memorable cultural moments, from adjusting to Denmark’s cold weather to discovering new foods.
“The cold had opinions, and it shared all of them with me the moment I stepped off that plane,” Ayo joked.

And while Danish cuisine offered new experiences, the team also enjoyed a taste of home when their manager David Stampe Grønberg treated them to a bowl of hot Jollof rice (a popular Nigerian Cuisine). During the visit, Eryk Group President Jens Christian Møller and the Remote IT Services Sales Manager Ole Aaroe also stopped by BIRN to meet the team reinforcing the importance of the collaboration.
Looking back, the experience strengthened more than technical delivery. It reinforced professional growth and global confidence.
“This experience showed me how much I’ve grown as a professional… and that my skills truly make an impact,” Funmi reflected.

Moments like these are what turn remote collaboration into genuine global teamwork.
And to our customer BIRN, we extend a sincere thank you for hosting and taking great care of the team during their stay in Denmark.
