BIRN – Customers visit to our service centre

At Eryk Remote IT Services, every new partnership is more than just business; it’s the start of a shared journey. We’re thrilled to welcome our latest customer, BIRN, and even more excited to have built a dedicated team of Power BI developers tailored to their needs.

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting David Stampe Grønborg, the Group IT Manager at BIRN, for a three-day visit to our Service Centre in Lagos. The visit was filled with energy, collaboration, and connection as David met his new IT team while taking them through an onboarding session to kickstart their work together.

Adding a personal touch to the experience, the CEO of Eryk Remote IT Services – Akalaka Vony Obazei, accompanied by other Eryk colleagues, hosted David for dinner after-hours, a moment that perfectly captured the spirit of partnership and shared vision that drives our collaboration.

To wrap up this inspiring visit, we asked David a few questions about his experience in Lagos, Nigeria, his impressions, and thoughts of the team and the facilities firsthand. His answers were fun and insightful:

  • What was it like for you to see in person the IT team that Eryk Remote IT Services built specifically for your company?

I am very pleased to meet our new team in Lagos. They were already equipped with the needed equipment, and everything went smoothly with the initial dialogues, and I feel now, after some days with them – that we can create a very good team here, with new learnings and nice projects for all parties.

  • What can you say about your experience in Lagos, Nigeria?

It is my first time in Africa, and I am so delighted to finally be able to see a glimpse of the continent. The city is so exceptionally large that I can’t really get my head around it. When you come from a country that has around 6 million people, in total, getting to a place where a single city has over 4 times the number of people is just mind-blowing. The city is big, lovely and the proud Nigerian people are just as lovely.

  •  How do you see this team blending into your operations back in Europe?

We surely have some work to do before everyone is on track – mostly due to the way our company operates in Europe. But on the personality level, willingness, passion etc. I see a prosperous future ahead, where we can have a very close, talented and dedicated team setup. Both AY and Funmi are lovely people, which fits perfectly with our current team.

  •  What excites you the most about having your own dedicated IT team here in Lagos?

The possibility to drive innovation and scale our solutions at the speed we want and need is exciting, but what truly motivates me is working with talented, dedicated, and good people.🙂

  •  If you could describe this new team in one word after today’s visit, what would it be?

Passionate

  • If you were to describe our facilities to your colleagues back in Europe, what would you say?

Lovely facilities, very cozy and well utilized, nice service-minded staff and always a stable temperature, when you remember to turn on the AC 😋

We are inspired by the trust our customer has placed in us, and excited to see the innovations this collaboration will bring. Here’s to more milestones, stronger connections, and continued success together.
