Denmark & Nigeria. Building bridges, building business
When Royalty Meets Industry: Shaping Denmark-Nigeria Economic Ties.
Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark’s recent visit to Lagos symbolized more than diplomacy, it reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to long-term partnership with Nigeria. From inclusive trade to green investments, her presence reflected a national interest in shaping a deeper collaboration between Danish values and Nigerian potential.
At APM Terminals Apapa, Queen Mary met pioneering female equipment operators and held discussions on workforce inclusion and innovation, echoing the very principles that drive us at Eryk Remote IT Services. Our Vice President, Lucja Kalkstein, was proud to represent Eryk Group during the visit, discussing our journey in Nigeria and our growing ambitions.
This message was further reinforced just weeks earlier, when our President, Jens-Christian Moller, visited Lagos and emphasized the importance of female representation in IT roles especially within the remote teams we build for European customers.

Building bridges
The Queen’s visit underscored a growing bridge between Denmark and Nigeria, built on shared innovation, skills development, and investment. From meeting young tech talent to pledging support for port infrastructure, her engagements highlighted a commitment to deeper collaboration and mutual growth.
Building business
The Queen’s visit spotlighted the values Denmark brings to its partnerships—sustainability, education, gender equity, but the real story is the growing Danish business footprint in Nigeria. From energy to shipping to urban development, Danish companies are investing not just money, but trust and deepening its long-term partnership with Nigeria
Amongst them:
- Maersk – expanding shipping and logistics to support Nigeria’s port modernization
- Arla Foods – partnering with Nigerian dairy farmers through Dano Milk
- Vestas – exploring renewable wind energy projects, especially in the North
- Grundfos – supporting clean water initiatives via sustainable infrastructure
- Danfoss – helping local industries improve cold-chain and energy efficiency
- Novo Nordisk – providing diabetes care and improving healthcare accessibility
- Henning Larsen Architects – collaborating on urban planning and green buildings
- Rambøll and COWI – contributing to Nigeria’s energy transition and smart city design

The Queen’s presence spotlighted not only women’s empowerment but also advanced Denmark’s broader agenda: supporting education reforms, green investments, women-led enterprises, and child welfare. These efforts are part of Denmark’s wider strategy to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development across Nigeria.
And we’re proud to say that Eryk Group is part of that movement. We are building remote IT teams in Nigeria to support projects in Europe. We’re not just bridging continents; we’re fusing IT talents with opportunity. Through our apprenticeship program, we’ve become an educational bridge that is training electricians, who support industrial projects in Europe.
For Danish and European companies watching closely, the message is clear: the time to partner with Nigeria is now. The skills are here. The energy is here. And the willingness to build together is unmistakable.
